Have you ever felt like you are a magnet for bad luck? I have a friend who is convinced she is that magnet and that bad luck keeps finding her.
She lost her job, got into a car accident and now she is just waiting for what’s next to happen.
Needless to say, my friend Jen was having a hard timing seeing the good in her life when all this “bad” stuff was happening to her.
When I reminded her of all the good still in her life, she was quick to recognize it, yet still felt so affected by everything.
I shared a simple trick I do every day, but especially when I am having an off day myself. I started using this when my dad died over 15 years ago, so I know it works if you do it.
If you’ve had a bad day and are just annoyed, ask your partner to do this with you (unless of course he’s the one that irked the sh*t out of you), then call a friend or you can do it yourself. I did it for many years by myself and now do it with my husband, kids, mastermind group you name it.
Find something, anything that is positive to focus on. It could be as simple as, “I had the best night sleep last night.”
Just start with something easy and build up from there.
You can start by saying “I am grateful for…..
the home that I live in, my health, the food on my table, the food in my fridge, the money I’m making, the pillows on my bed, my super, soft clean sheets, the money in our bank accounts, that amazing parking spot I got at the super market.” You get the point. 😉
What you focus on expands, so focus on the good in your life. (tweet this!)
It may sound silly to do this, but I swear it will work to help shift your mood and help you to stay positive.
This is a big part of my morning routine. When I work out in the morning I will review all the amazing things I have in my life. I focus on my health, and think just how lucky I am. I thank my lucky stars for my husband, my two boys, my friends both near and far, my family, my mother, the fact we are living in New Zealand etc.
And before I had Grae or my boys in my life I would say how thankful I was for the roof over my head, my dear friends in my life, being an amazing auntie to my nieces etc.
I have another idea for how you can use this same idea. So, you know how you are terrified to do that first webinar, or ask for the sale? Well, this is another good exercise to use prior to those moments. It can’t hurt and it can only help to calm you down and help you rock that webinar and show your ideal clients how amazing you truly are.

Now there are times that you are going to be in a mega funk and this exercise will help, but it will take longer. During those time, you are going to have to let the mega funk run its course. But know that this exercise will definitely help you climb up that ladder to feeling better.
I highly suggest you go out and purchase a special “Gratitude” notebook that you can have by your bedside and use it solely for capturing all that you are grateful for. Use it before you fall asleep and write out 5, 10, 20, 100 gratitudes. It doesn’t matter just write out what you are grateful for and feel into each one and your mood will shift. And things will start to look up soon enough.

It is a powerful exercise and one that the Universe will stand up and take notice. The more you appreciate all that you have, it will help to set your energy up for success.
